Essay on environment and natural resources

Poverty among people puts stress on the environment whereas environmental problems cause severe suffering to the poor.

Our planet is at breaking point. But it’s not too late to save it | World Economic Forum

People, whether they be rich or poor, consume water, food, and natural resources in order to remain alive. All economic activities are directly, indirectly or remotely based on natural resources and any pressure on natural resources can cause environmental stress. Environmental damage can prevent people, especially the poor, from having good and hygienic living standards.

As poor people rely more directly on the environment than the rich for their survival, they are mostly on the receiving end of environmental problems. Poverty often causes people to put relatively more pressure on the environment which results in larger families due to high death rates and insecurity , improper human waste disposal leading to unhealthy living conditions, more pressure on fragile land to meet their needs, overexploitation of natural resources and more deforestation. Insufficient knowledge about agricultural practices can also lead to a decline in crop yield and productivity etc.

On the other hand environmental problems add more to the miseries of poor people. Environmental problems cause more suffering among them as environmental damage increases the impact of floods and other environmental catastrophes. Soil erosion, land degradation and deforestation lead to a decline in food production along with a shortage of wood for fuel contribute to inflation. In short, the worst consequences of environmental deterioration, whether they be economical, social, or related to mental or physical wellbeing, are experienced by poor people. More rigorous efforts should be undertaken by the governments of all countries to eradicate poverty and in turn, to save deprived people from the dreadful implications of environmental damage.

There should be more collaborative partnerships among all sections of the society so that even the people living in poverty are linked to the world through their participation in social, political, and economical spheres along with their active participation in environmental regeneration.

I strongly believe that there cannot be any environmental solution without alleviating poverty from the world. See more blogs.

The natural soils make for good farming and ranching conditions, we've got great rock deposits for a variety of industrial uses, and we have a number of different mineral deposits scattered through the state This paper also demonstrates my interest in creating biological and economic equity in the world through breaking down these oppressive frameworks and hence, my interest in obtaining knowledge about alternative energy uses to be used as a tool to help liberate others in places of need Strong Essays words 3.

These also include less tangible forms like aspects of folklife, traditional or religious practices, and landscapes. These nonrenewable resources often yield unique information about past societies and environments, and can provide answers for modern day social and conservation problems It is often processed of manufactured in order for it to meet the needs of a society. Resources then differ spatially, as different people have different needs and therefore require different resources, and temporally as a society grows and advances their needs will change and so to their resources.

Natural resources range from minerals and metals to people their labor and skills Strong Essays words 5. In was the first known landing within Australia by Europeans by a Dutch navigator named Willem Janszoon. Today my report will cover how Natives Americans were impacted by the discovery of gold and other natural resources in California. We have Chumash tribe which was a tribe located on the coast in the Santa Barbra area. They loved to hunt for fish, otters and deer before they had any contact with Europeans Areas who are failing in crop raising are used for livestock raising. North Korea has a wealth of natural resources its terrain is mostly hilly and mountainous. The Key ones are iron ore and coal, the greater highlight are magnesite, zinc, lead and gold which have led to extradition It requires the collective action of not only nations, but also the world as a whole in becoming consciously aware of the impact we put on the environment.

As the world continues to evolve and new challenges arise, our tourism industry must adapt. We must allow the tentacles of the tourism industry to extend to various sectors, such as arts and culture, so as to strengthen its diversity and durability, particularly during these turbulent economic times As humans began to farm larger areas of land, their energy demands changed.

Domesticated animals were used for energy sources to pull plows. When the Industrial Revolution occurred, people's energy demands further changed to meet the needs of industry. Work that was done by people and animals were then transferred over to machines. These machines required more natural resources such as iron and coal to produce large amounts of steel for tractors, pipes, and other devices As a result, energy is not distributed evenly around the world. In the present climate of the global economy, the distribution of energy presents conflicts between growing industry and already established industry.

As a result, countries such as China, which are beginning to consume more resources, are turning to former methods of polluting natural resources such as coal because the resources they used to use are not as widely available In the United States there has always been a wealth inequality endured by minorities but no community has suffered greater than those who have inhabited these lands originally.

Castro et al Most of the recyclable items we use everyday are made from plastic, paper, glass or aluminum. While manufacturing papers we use wood pulp from trees, producing plastic requires the use of oil as well as natural gas. We can say that making products from recycled materials means using fewer natural resources, that means less trees will be cut and not as much oil will be used to produce plastic. S annual oil consumption goes into the manufacture of plastic, but recycling can make a significant impact on oil use Currently the weight of the population is relatively close to million tons.

All seven billion are contributing to an ever evolving world such as: technologically, medically, socially, and economically. Unfortunately having such luxuries at our fingertips it is only natural to take things like electricity and even water for granted, we are not looking at what will happen in the long run as a result of everyone using these things at their own personal leeway According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources the definition to furbearer is "the name given to mammals that traditionally have been hunted and trapped primarily for fur" DNR Links.

With the exponentially increasing number of the human population there creates an enormous strain of the use of our natural resources, which thereby requires a need to produce an alternate source, either through chemical, or machinery means, which then leaks problems, such as pollution, into our environment. However, using the concepts of Green Chemistry, which includes, enhanced atom productivity, and the usage of non-renewable resources along with many others, scientists can better neutralize the damaging effects of pollution in our environmen Livelihood of the people is dependent on the natural resources.
